Position Profile:
The Staff Accountant is a financial business partner with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset, and Cost Accounting teams to facilitate and achieve accurate and timely financial information along with supporting month end close activities. The Staff Accountant is expected to work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure proper execution of business practices, contracts, and advancing improvement efforts. The position is an important part of the financial talent pipeline.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial role
- Support accounts receivable / accounts payable functions
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Assist in oversight and analysis of assigned plant inventories
- Post transactions in the ERP system, including journal entries, allocations, reconciliations, inventory revaluation, and adjustments.
- Develop and executes systematic processes that ensure strong internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, and adherence to corporate policies
2. Reporting and analysis
- Accounts receivable / accounts payable financial reporting and analysis
- Research and resolve receivable / payable issues by working directly with customers, suppliers, plant associates, and our corporate departments
- Review packaging and ingredient pricing and ensure price changes are approved by the appropriate customer if needed
- Complete account reconciliations and all other reporting as assigned
3. Organizational Relationships
- Reports to Divisional Accounting Manager
- This position works closely with divisional management, accounting personnel, and corporate finance departments
